The Trout Farm Was Expanded in Akhalkalaki Within the Framework of the Uniform Agro Project
Today, the trout farm of the individual entrepreneur Ashot Khachaturian in the Akhalkalaki municipality, which is a trout farm equipped by the international standards and expanded within the Uniform Agro Project, was visited by the Agricultural Project Management Agency Preferential Agro Credit Project manager Levan Dolidze together with Deputy Governor of Samthkhe-Javakheti Giorgi Mikeladze.
8 tons trout are produced in the trout farm of individual entrepreneur Ashot Khachaturian, annually. 4 people are employed in the enterprise. The product is sold on the local market. The enterprise was expanded in 2014.
The company is the beneficiary of the Preferential Agro Credit Project. In total 80,000 USD was invested in the enterprise, out of which the preferential agro credit is 37,100 USD, and 42,900 USD is the beneficiarys own investment.
Since 2013, the Project Management Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture has been implementing various projects for establishing new enterprises. Within the projects, preferential loans will be issued for the creation of new enterprises, as well as for the expansion of existing ones. At this stage, more than 750 operating and 162 new enterprises have already been funded under the project. 8 new enterprises were established and 54 enterprises were expanded in Samtskhe-Javakheti Region.
Within the framework of the project Produce in Georgia for Rapid Development, the Agriculture Projects Management Agency is implementing the Uniform Agro Project designed for long-term development and its purpose is to create an environment that will promote the increase of competitiveness in agriculture, stable growth of high quality products, introduction of international food safety standards.
