New blueberry orchards have been arranged in Guria region under the United Agricultural Project

New orchards of bog blueberry have been arranged by the LLC Iuvis Berry within the scopes of the project Plant the Future. Mr. Levan Dolidze, the manager of the project Plant the Future of the Agricultural Projects Management Agency and Mr. Gia Salukvadze, the governor of Guria region together with the representatives of local government visited the orchards of bog blueberry planted by the LLC Iuvis Berry on 7.2 ha in village Jumati, Ozurgeti region. Above mentioned company got involved into the program in 2016 year. LLC Iuvis Berry for arrangement of irrigation system and orchard planting received the state funding in amount of 78 072.34 GEL. The above mentioned sum included 60 072.34 GEL for seedlings while 18 000 GEL was designated for drip irrigation system. In the framework of the project Plant the future, in Guria region the orchards were planted on 97 ha. The cultivated area throughout Georgia for new orchards and irrigation system covers 3 343 ha and the grants awarded exceed 16 368 274 million GEL. The Agricultural Project Management Agency "Invest in Georgia for Rapid Development" implements the Unified Agro-Project, which is designed for long-term development and its goal is to foster an environment that will promote agricultural competitiveness, high-quality production steady growth and implementation of the food safety international standards.
