In Samegrelo region new orchard has been arranged within the framework of united Agroproject. Mr. Levan Dolidze, the manager of the agro-project Plant the Future of the Agricultural Projects Management Agency, together with the representatives of local administration, in the village Marani, Samegrelo region, had examined the nut orchard of beneficiary participant of the program, Mr. Onise Gelenidze, planted on the area of 18 hectares. Mr. Onise Gelenidze joined the program in 2016. Mr. Gelenidze received 56,678 GEL for arrangement of orchard and irrigation system; from the won financing 11 678 GEL was allocated for seedlings and 45 000 GEL for drip irrigation system. Within the framework of united Agroproject the orchards have been arranged in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region on the area of 200 hectares. Across the country the total area of arranged new orchards amounts to 1 438 hectares and the sum of funding is 7,4 million GEL. On the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia the agro-project Plant the Future of the Agricultural Projects Management Agency has been initiated since 2015 year. The purpose of the project is the maximum support for increase of intended use of agricultural land and arrangement of perennial gardens and nursery gardens in all municipalities of Georgia (except Tbilisi, Rustavi, Batumi, Kutaisi and Poti). Capacity of co-financing within the framework of the agro-project Plant the Future amounts to: In case of orchard arrangement 70% of seedling price and 50% of drip irrigation system. In case of Nursery gardens 50% of the value of arrangement. Agricultural Projects Management Agency carries out the united Agroproject intended for a long-termed development. The purpose of the above mentioned Agroproject is the promotion of competitiveness, stable growth of high-quality production, food safety and maintenance of food security.
