The damage caused by hail was fully compensated to the beneficiary involved into United Agroproject in Signaghi region. Mr. Levan Maghradze, the manager of Agro Insurance Program of the Agricultural Projects Management Agency, Mr. Irakli Kadagishvili, the Governor of Kakheti region and Mr. Vakhtang Ebitashvili, the representative of insurance company Aldagi met with Gogita Nanobashvili at Signaghi Municipality and surveyed the land plot cultivated with melon that was destroyed by the hail. 80% of harvest of Gogita Nanobashvili, the native of the village Vakiri, was damaged at the result of the hail. 14 000 GEL was compensated by insurance company Aldagi to the above mentioned beneficiary. The amount paid by the beneficiary in order to purchase the insurance policy amounted to 630 GEL, whereas the subsidy of the Agency was 1470 GEL. According the findings of the year 2017, totally 19 501 units of insurance policies have been issued throughout Georgia, under the Agro-insurance Program, 14 293 beneficiaries are involved within the program, and the State Insurance Premium subsidy amounted to 6 964 337 GEL. Insured area of land spot is 19 926 Hectares, and the total amount of harvest is 132 314 231 GEL. The storm, flood and hail have resulted in the occurrence of 3 021 insurance cases. Based on the preliminary estimations, the volume of sum to be reimbursed is 3 842 188 GEL. Simultaneously, the loss rate calculation is being processed and the amount is to be deposited. State financial support has given the entrepreneurs with additional motivation for development and expansion of production. United Agro Project being implemented by the Agricultural Projects Management Agency, is targeted on the long-term development goals and aims to promote the increase of the competitiveness within the agricultural field, to support the steady growth of a high-quality production and provision of food safety and security.
