LLC Experimental Tea Factory of Anaseuli equipped with modern standards was founded in 2014 year in Ozurgeti municipality, by the support of state financial aid. The company purchases the fruit from about 500 local farmers, there are employed 12 employees and the company produces 730 tons of fruit jam different per year: pear, apple, peach, plum and persimmon. Currently the production is sold at the local market but export of products is planned for future. In February of 2017 year, the ISO 22000:2005 certificate was granted to the LLC Experimental Tea Factory of Anaseuli by the Czech company LL-C Certification. The above mentioned became possible within the frameworks of the cooperation of USAID/REAP and Agricultural Projects Management Agency targeting on the implementation of management systems and standards of food safety at beneficiary factories by the endeavor and co-financing of USAID/REAP and Agency (50% - USAID/REAP, 30% - Agency and 20% - company). It is anticipated that after the certification procedure the LLC Experimental Tea Factory of Anaseuli will be able to establish the business contacts with foreign purchaser. Within the frameworks of the agreement drawn up between the USAID/REAP and the Agency, currently the support for implementation of HACCP system and ISO 22 000 standard is being provided by the above mentioned agencies to 13 agricultural businesses.
