Deputy Minister of Agriculture visited new enterprise in Sighnaghi region within the frameworks of `Unitied Agroproject`

Deputy Minister of Agriculture Girogi Chkheidze together with the Governor of Kakheti region Irakli Kadagishvili and the Deputy Director of Agricultural Projects Management Agency Giorgi Jibladze got aquainted with the working process in the grain storage enterprise equipped with modern standards that is located in village Tibaani, Signagi Municipality. The above mentioned enterprise, owned by the individual entrepreneur Teimuraz Naskidashvili, was founded within the frameworks of United Agroproject of Agricultural Projects Management Agency. Grain storage enterprise of individual entrepreneur Teimuraz Naskidashvili provides the area for he storage of 6 000 tons of grain. 7 people are employed in the enterprise that was launched into operation in June 2017. Grain products are sold on the local market. Individual entrepreneur Teimuraz Naskidashvili is the beneficiary of the preferential agro-credit program. Total 490,000 USD was invested in the enterprise; 390 000 US dollars are preferential agro-credit and 100 000 USD - own investment. The Project Management Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia has been implementing various projects to create new enterprises since 2013. Within the framework of the projects, preferential loans will be issued for the creation of new enterprises, as well as for the expansion of existing ones. At this stage, more than 750 active and 158 new enterprises have already been financed under the project. Financial support from the state provided the entrepreneurs with an additional impulse for development and expansion. The Agricultural Project Management Agency is implementing a United Agroproject within the frameworks of Produce in Georgia-Business. United Agroproject is designed for long-term development and its purpose is to create an environment that will promote the competitiveness in agricultural field, stable growth of high quality products and introduction of international food safety standards.
