Training program for “Plant the Future” Beneficiaries
The Agriculture Project Management Agency completed the fourth stage of the training of participants in the program Plant the Future. The mandatory training of beneficiaries financed within the project was carried out at the Agricultural Project Management Agency office. 34 beneficiaries participating in the program were trained in different directions: practical training of seedlings technology in planted garden, introduction of the integrated plant protection (IPM) systems, garden irrigation and plant feeding issues.
By the initiative of the Agricultural Project Management Project, the training was conducted in two days, it started on December 13 and ended on December 14. Elene Maghlakelidze, chief specialist of the Garden and Viticulture Research Department of the Agricultural Scientific Research Center, produced the free course to the beneficiaries. The purpose of the training was to teach the beneficiaries how to keep the intensive and semi-intensive perennial gardens with modern means and facilities, which will reduce possible risks during gardening.
The Agriculture Project Management Agency will ensure regularly training of the beneficiaries participating in the program. The program Plant the Future has been implementing within the framework of Unified AgroProject since 2015. Since the beginning of the project, 606 applications have been approved within its frames. In total, 18,979,867 GEL was financed under the project. Perennial gardens of different cultures have been cultivated on the 3,762 hectare land.
The financial support provided by the state gives an additional push to the entrepreneurs for development and expansion. Within the framework of the Produce in Georgia Business program, the Agricultural Project Management Agency has been implementing the Unified AgroProject, which is designed for long-term development and its purpose is to create an environment that will promote competition in agriculture, stable growth of high quality products and introduction of the international food safety standards.
