The Rural Development Agency presented the 2023 activity report to the Agrarian Affairs Committee at the external meeting
St. Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture Tengiz Nasaridze attended the session of the Committee on Agrarian Affairs of the Parliament of Georgia held in Mtskheta. The director of the Rural Development Agency, Davit Tsitlidze, provided the deputies with information about the projects and programs implemented in 2023 and introduced the events planned for the current year.
As part of the outdoor session, a meeting was held with local farmers and entrepreneurs.
According to Tengiz Nasaridze, active communication with the field representative is important in order to promptly respond to needs.
"The Rural Development Agency implements a number of state programs that benefit tens of thousands of beneficiaries. The result of this support is increased production and export of agricultural products.It is important to note that the agrarian committee, which was presented with the detailed report of the Rural Development Agency for 2023, evaluated the agency's activities positively," said Tengiz Nasaridze, Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture.
The members of the agrarian committee, within the framework of their visit to the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, visited the bread-and-cake factory of the beneficiary companies of the Rural Development Agency, "Food Alliance" LLC, and the cultivated almond orchard of "Kanda Agrilchari" LLC.
According to the chairman of the Agrarian Affairs Committee, Gela Samkharauli, the committee continues to hold field meetings in the regions.
"At the meeting held with the local population and representatives of the local government in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, we discussed the problems in the region that concern the local population. The Agrarian Affairs Committee will be an intermediary in solving these issues with various government agencies", Gela Samkharauli said.
According to Davit Nozadze, representative of Mtskheta-Mtianeti district, it is important that the meeting with local farmers was held. There is an issue on which work and meetings will continue in the future, so that the population is better informed about the projects and programs implemented by the government.
