Small Farmers Support Programme has been launched in Kvemo-Kartli
Within the framework of Small Farmers 2016 Spring Works Support Programme, ploughing works have been already commenced in Eastern Georgia, namely, Kvemo Karetli and Shida Kartli.
Today, Paata Khizaneishvili, the Kvemo Kartli Governor, and Paata Shekeladze, the Director of Mekhanizatori LTD arrived to Koda Village of Tetritskaro Region (Kvemo Kartli) and familiarized with the ploughing works.
580 ha land parcels will be cultivated in Koda Village. This year 924 beneficiaries will enjoy the Small Farmers 2016 Spring Works Support Programme in Koda Village, wherefrom 813 farmers have already received ploughing cards. 8 tractors of Mekhanizatori LTD will perform the works. Within the framework of Small Farmers 2016 Spring Works Support Programme and according to the preliminary figures, assistance will provided to more than 94 thousand beneficiaries of Kvemo Kartli, wherefrom 511 thousand farmers will receive ploughing cards. The villages connected to Rustavi City will be added to the project this year.
This year 800 thousand farmers will participate in Small Farmers 2016 Spring Works Support Programme the budget of which totals 48 mln GEL.
On the initiative of the Government, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Agricultural Projects Management Agency started the Spring Works Support Programme in 2013. It was a three-year project and was extended for the fourth year under the decision of the Government of Georgia.
* Beneficiaries, who own the ploughing land with the aggregate area of 0.25-1.25 hectares, will be provided only with a ploughing card in the amount of 140 GEL per 1 hectare * Farmers who own the agricultural plot of land with the aggregate area of 0.25 hectares will be granted a 50-GEL Agro Cards.
* Beneficiaries who use the agricultural plot of land with the aggregate area of 0.25-1.25 hectares for perennial crops will be provided with agricultural products in the amount of GEL 140 per 1 hectare.
Small Farmers 2016 Spring Works Support Programme commenced in February and will be completed on the 1st of December.
