A new refrigeration plant has been established in Shida Kartli region

In the village of Karaleti, Gori Municipality, a new refrigeration plantcreated with the financial supportof the state is ready to receive products.

Totally more than 1.2 million GEL was invested in the enterprise equipped with the modern standards of "Coolservice" Ltd., including GEL 600,000 grant, and GEL 300,000 - preferential agro-credit. 1,000 tons of fruits and vegetables can be stored in the refrigeration plant. Seasonally, enterprise will employ up to 20 locals.

Giorgi Khanishvili, First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, ShidaKartli Representative Valerian Mchedlidze and Director of the Rural Development AgencyIlia Tamarashvili visited the refrigeration plant.

In recent years, total of more than 1,700 loans worth more than GEL 180 million have been disbursed under the Preferential Agrocredit for the development of storage and refrigeration infrastructure, with the state co-financing approximately GEL 27 million. Created infrastructure ensures high quality storage and processing of products of Georgian farmers." -Said the First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.

"Another refrigeration plant equipped with modern technologies has been opened in the village of Karaleti. As you know, Shida Kartli is a region distinguished by the production of agricultural products. The new farm will allow farmers to settle the harvest without any problems, said Valerian Mchedlidze, Shida Kartli State Representative.

Up to 45 refrigeration and storage facilities are supported throughout the country under the Rural Development Agency; Total, exceeds 23 million GEL. 25 refrigeration and storage farms were established in Shida Kartli region within the framework of the Grant program; The total co-financing from the State is more than 14 million GEL.
