The Deputy Director of the Rural Development Agency, Natalia Kharatishvili, and the Coordinator of the component of the "Sustainable Agriculture, Irrigation, and Land Market Development Project of Georgia," Ilia Tamarashvili, met with locals in the village of Shindisi, Gori Municipality, and introduced the details of the targeted program.

The Director of the Rural Development Agency, Davit Tsitlidze, visited the Coordinating Headquarters for Facilitating the Sale of Substandard Apples and the fruit processing plant "Shindisi," where he familiarized himself with the process of harvesting and selling the crop.

The delegation members familiarized themselves with the experiences of the Paying Agencies of Croatia and Serbia. This visit was one of the planned activities in the institutional reform process of the Rural Development Agency, transforming it into a Paying Agency.

With the support of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and organized by the Rural Development Agency, ten Georgian companies showcased their locally produced agricultural products to visitors at the international agricultural exhibition Foodex Saudi, held in Riyadh.

According to preliminary data, this year’s non-standard apple harvest will be approximately 50,000 tons. To ensure that the produced goods are not left uncollected, farmers do not face difficulties in selling their harvest, and they receive income, a state program to support the sale of non-standard apples will be implemented this year as in previous years.
